Police begin crackdown on pirate websites

Police in London have started contacting websites it believes are profiting from copyright-infringement.

The City of London Police and the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau have so far written to two sites that share links of pirate copies of music, movies and video games.

The operators of the sites have been warned that they are breaking the law and could be subject to heavy jail sentences of as much as 10 years.
