TuneCore reports $102m artist payouts in 2012

Digital distributor TuneCore has reported a record $101.8 million pay-out to artists in 2012.

The company’s management told Billboard that growth last year amounted to 47% up from $69.3million, with the record revenue figure made up of 79 million downloads and 1.17 billion streams.

The Top 10 best-selling revenue generators across the TuneCore portfolio in 2012 came from: Boyce Avenue, the Civil Wars, Pretty Lights, Ron Pope, LeCrae, Your Favorite Martian, Schoolboy Q, Cold Ford, Hoodie Allen, and Hopsin.
