New edition of Music Week out now

The new issue of Music Week is out now, featuring Island US president Darcus Beese on the cover to commemorate the iconic exec receiving the coveted Strat Award at the Music Week Awards 2019.

In an in-depth interview, Beese reflects on his stellar career – including signing Amy Winehouse – and looks ahead to his glorious future with Island US. Plus, there’s a host of tributes from top execs and artists, including Sir Lucian Grainge, Bono, David Joseph, Annie Lennox, Mark Ronson, Michele Anthony and many more.

The Big Story takes a look at all the big winners from this year’s Music Week Awards – which was our biggest ceremony ever – featuring the likes of Polydor, Atlantic and Lauren Laverne.

Also in news, we catch-up with BPI’s Peter Leathem about their latest results, while the BRIT Trust celebrates a big anniversary.

On top of all that we welcome rock’n’roll royalty into our pages as E-Street Band legend Steven Van Zandt tells us all about his new solo album.

We rewind the clocks 25 years in Hitmakers as Blur drummer Dave Rowntree recalls the creation of their smash hit Park Life, whereas The Aftershow catches up with Fierce Panda’s Simon Williams, also celebrating 25 years of his indie label.

South London soul man Samm Henshaw is spotlighted in On The Radar while BBC Radio 1 DJ Phil Taggart is this week's Tastemaker.

Elsewhere, Sync Story strips down the partnership between Sky Sports and Roni Size/Rag’N’Bone Man and Making Waves focuses on drill newcomer Taze.

Plus, there’s all our usual news, analysis, charts coverage and market share statistics.
