OMG! MTV to launch new music channel

MTV UK has announced the launch of a brand new music channel aimed at 16-34s.

Set to launch of March 1, MTV OMG (obsessed with music & gossip) will feature the biggest names and hits of the moment, as well as all the latest gossip.

It will be available as a PAY TV channel on Sky 353 and Virgin 318. It will feature a wide variety of content including The Official Charts: Weekly Top 40, Artist Hosted Playlists, Voiceover Playlists, Themed Countdowns and Quizzes.

Kelly Bradshaw, VP, brand lead, MTV UK, said: “We’re really excited to be launching MTV OMG as the latest instalment to our booming MTV music pack. The channel will be a great complement to the rest of our portfolio, bringing audiences all the latest pop culture moments, music and gossip from the world of entertainment.”

MTV OMG will join the rest of the MTV Music Pack which currently includes MTV Music, MTV Base, MTV Hits,  MTV Dance, MTV Rocks, MTV Classic, VH1 UK, MTV Music +1 and replaces FTA channel VIVA, as the brand looks to invest further in music TV on MTV and its sister brands.

MTV is the No.1 music television network in the UK for 16-34s, a position it has held for 10 consecutive years. In 2017, the MTV Music Pack took a 37% share of the Music TV market and reached 19% of 16-34s each month.
