Spotify has confirmed that the second series of its original podcast series, Who We Be Talks, will arrive today (September 20).
The modified format of the show will build upon the groundwork of the podcast’s initial 11-episode run earlier this year and will feature an altered presenter line-up, new lifestyle content and a change of frequency, with the show now appearing every week. The show will expand to 50 episodes.
Acclaimed UK rapper Ghetts will be the guest artist on the first show. The star will be talking about his new album Ghetto Gospel: The New Testament in an interview with host DJ Semtex.
Who We Be Talks will also feature a new co-presenter, Parris O’Loughlin-Hoste. As revealed exclusively in a recent edition of Music Week, O’Loughlin-Hoste was recently promoted to senior urban artist manager as part of a raft of new hires at RCA by David Dollimore.
Speaking about joining the show, Parris OH, said: "I am thrilled to be joining the Who We Be Talks line-up, working with Semtex on what has become a must-listen show for urban music fans in the UK, and around the world.”
Semtex added: "This is big. We knew we had something special with the original run of shows, and to bring all the new changes to this season and take it weekly is going to cement Who We Be Talks as the number one podcast in urban culture.”
In 2017, Spotify launched Who We Be Live, its first-ever UK live event - you can read Music Week's review here. Last April, Spotify confirmed it had partnered with Live Nation to expand the live series with an O2 Academy Birmingham show in June and a return to Alexandra Palace scheduled for November.
