Live music tech startup Peex has appointed Patrick Vosgimorukian as its new CEO.
With a background working with next generation tech companies, Vosgimorukian will be leading the music tech startup into the next phase of its launch plan and identifying opportunities for the product to be scaled.
Peex enables gig-goers to create enhanced sound anywhere within a venue using wearable technology. It launched in the US and Europe on Elton John's Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
The company will have a presence at the Music Week Tech Summit together with O2 on October 8. Diid Osman, head of artist relations and venue partnerships, will appear on a panel covering the next generation of fan engagement in live music. Other speakers include Live Nation's Jackie Wilgar, SVP, head of marketing, Mark Lambert, senior director, global partnerships, AEG Europe and Sam Slee, sponsorship manager, O2.
In order to support its growth plans, Peex is seeking new partners to work with to raise additional funds that will allow the business to expand into the festival market and other non-music related live events.
The goal of Peex is to enhance the live sound experience and the potential for this technology is enormous.
Vosgimorukian worked within the tech and entertainment industries from his time as an angel investor and being the managing partner of Digital Spring Ventures, a tech-focused venture capital fund. Prior to this, he was CEO of a telecoms, media and technology private equity fund covering emerging markets.
Vosgimorukian said: “It is an absolute privilege to be named Peex’s new CEO. It is an exciting time to join the company following the successful commercial launch in the US and Europe. Peex has developed an innovative product, which is currently revolutionising the live music space. The goal of Peex is to enhance the live sound experience and the potential for this technology is enormous. I’m looking forward to working with the team and diving into new applications and territories together.”
Pieter Hamelink, co-founder, former CEO and executive chairman, added: “We welcome Patrick to our growing team and are excited for the wealth of experience and expertise that he brings along with him to Peex. We are impressed with Patrick’s vision for the company and the growth plans laid out for the future are ambitious. The festival market is just one area where we are looking to expand into, and with Patrick’s guidance we will be exploring all viable scalable options. We are excited to embrace new opportunities.”
Peex enables fans to create their own enhanced five-channel mix of the live concert sound via the wearable technology and companion app.
