On May 30 last year, Calum Scott sang Rihanna’s Diamonds in the final of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent. After forgetting the words, he recovered to complete the song well, but the damage was done and he came sixth.

A performer called Jules O’Dwyer and her border collie Matisse were the eventual winners, with magician Jamie Raven and Welsh choir Cor Glanaethwy coming second and third.
