Job Title: Label Manager
Reporting to: EVP Artist & Producer Development. Dotted line to EVP Marketing & Digital Strategy
Location: London
Working Hours: Standard 35 hours per week
Normally working Mon – Fri 10am – 6pm with additional hours as required
Overall Purpose: To work as part of a small growing team with overall responsibility for managing and administering the label ensuring that all domestic and international releases are delivered and executed smoothly

Key Activities and Responsibilities

Product Development/Releases

  • Co-ordinate the production, marketing, distribution and any other third-party teams’ activities in relation to a label release for all releases across Access Records
  • Liaise with 3rd party promotions teams in order to compile regular artist updates to our partners
  • Develop, maintain and circulate the label release schedule
  • Initiate and chair internal label planning meetings
  • Oversee physical production where necessary (working with preferred partner KEY)
  • Work with internal Digital/Marketing team to help prepare, plan and manage marketing and media strategy campaigns (i.e. Press; T.V.; radio etc.) to maximise key opportunities
  • Commission and organise photo/video shoots
  • Co-ordinate promo schedules, tours and events
  • Collect and circulate sales/market data via The OCC and analytics tools
  • Where relevant, manage the design process through to finished artwork
  • Where required, collate sleevenotes, tracklistings, label copy, credits etc. and forward to internal/external designers to lay-up in album sleeves

Relationships and Communication

  • Work closely with the Digital/Marketing team in the UK and internationally
  • Manage relationships with external promo teams to ensure delivery of marketing and promo strategies
  • Maintain dialogue with our distributor in order to keep DSP Partners updated on campaigns with a view to forging own direct relationships
  • Manage relationships with artist management (usually internally) and ensure they are kept up to date on all aspects of the release schedule, marketing and promotional activity
  • Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on releases and campaigns

Label/Release Administration

  • Manage all associated release administration which includes but is not limited to:
    • Ensuring timely delivery of assets to align with production timelines
    • Generating ISRC codes, metadata forms and UPC numbers
    • Uploading assets to our distributor or to video platforms where necessary
    • The upkeep of one sheets for our artists on our roster

Business Awareness

  • Ensure awareness of the market (i.e. popular music), music business developments, products and challenges and apply knowledge appropriately

Person Specification

Previous Experience and Knowledge

Essential 

  • 2-3 years of product/label management experience in music industry
  • Good understanding of digital formats and marketing multi genre releases
  • In-depth knowledge about popular/commercial music genres

Desirable

  • International release experience

  • Ability to generate product concept ideas and manage through to implementation
  • Plentiful knowledge of working with distributors
  • Ability to prioritise and juggle a variety of tasks at the same time
