Chrysalis Records announces new artists signings including Bodega and Marika Hackman

Chrysalis Records has announced several key artist signings.

Liz Lawrence, Bodega, The Wandering Hearts, Marika Hackman and Gia Ford have all signed global recording deals with the London-based independent record company, which is part of the Reservoir group of companies.

Lawrence has released three acclaimed albums to date and is known for being one half of electro-pop duo Cash & David. The English singer-songwriter is set to release her first EP for Chrysalis, I Was There – with the title track featuring Steve Mason – on September 29, whilst a new album will follow in 2024, which has been produced and mixed by Ali Chant (Yard Act, Perfume Genius).

Acclaimed New York-based band Bodega will also be releasing a new album in early 2014, whilst British vocal harmony group The Wandering Hearts, who have topped the UK Official Americana Charts twice, are about to begin their tour of the US and are releasing a new album in 2024.

Rising pop artist Gia Ford has just released her first track, Alligator, and her debut album for Chrysalis is set to come out next year, whilst British multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Marika Hackman has recently announced details of her new single, No Caffeine, and will be releasing her first record for the label next year, with UK and US tour dates to follow.

Jeremy Lascelles, CEO of Blue Raincoat Music and Chrysalis Records said: “When Robin [Millar] and I decided to re-launch Chrysalis Records as a frontline label in 2020, we only had one criteria as to what we should release, which was: ‘Is it great?’ For every one of these signings, the answer is a resounding ‘Yes!’ Each artist in their own way is creating music that is innovative and brilliant, which means we have a tremendously exciting time ahead of us as a label between now and summer next year.”
