Marilyn Manson cancels dates after stage injury

Marilyn Manson has cancelled several October dates on his US tour, following a stage injury at the weekend.

Towards the end of his set at NYC's Hammerstein Ballroom, a prop fell on the singer causing him to cut the show short.

Eyewitnesses reported that the prop – two large guns held together with scaffolding – fell on Manson during the song Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This). He was taken to hospital on a stretcher.

Manson has now cancelled nine dates up to mid-October.

A statement from Manson’s spokesperson said: "Marilyn Manson is being forced to cancel several of his October dates on his forthcoming US tour.

"On Saturday night, the legendary performer suffered an injury on stage towards the end of his set at NYC's Hammerstein Ballroom causing him to cut the show short. He was treated for the injury at a local hospital and will be recuperating at home in Los Angeles.”

Manson's 10th album, Heaven Upside Down, is released on Friday (October 6) via Loma Vista/ Caroline International.

He’s due to play UK dates in December, including a show at SSE Wembley Arena.
