Box Plus Network partners with The Great Escape for new talent drive

The Box Plus Network managing director Matt Rennie has told Music Week that the company’s partnership with The Great Escape highlights their “shared vision” for supporting new artists.

This year’s festival will feature a Box Fresh stage, which will host live performances from a raft of emerging artists, including Ray BLK, Jerry Williams, Mullally and Avelino.

In addition, Box Plus’ flagship live show, Trending Live, will be broadcast live from the Brighton seafront on May 18, featuring live sessions and interviews with an array of performers.

“It seemed like an obvious thing for us to do,” Rennie said. “We spoke to Live Nation and MAMA about The Great Escape Festival and participating in the conference, then we thought, this fits really well with our objective of supporting new music and their vision is well aligned with ours.”

He continued: “We decided not only should we form some kind of media partnership around co-branding one of the stages at the festival, but also take what we do as a broadcast network down there as well.”

The Box Plus Network will also provide coverage of The Great Escape via its app, including live performances and exclusive festival content.

Kevin Moore, festival manager at The Great Escape, added: “The Box Plus Network have such a unique and fun approach to giving upcoming artists a platform to be heard, and we can’t wait for them to bring their Trending Live show down to the festival.

“They share our passion for homegrown talent and are able to tap into an exclusive audience, reaching the next generation of tastemakers.”
