Bella Union founder: Universal/EMI 'spells trouble'

Others in the independent music community have been more welcoming of recent events - but the founder of celebrated British indie label Bella Union remains staunchly opposed to Universal's proposed £1.2bn buyout of EMI.

In an open letter submitted to Music Week, Simon Raymonde - whose roster includes John Grant and M Ward - has explained why he believes the merger would "spell trouble" for the independent music network in future.
