Bob Shennan named BBC music boss

The BBC has pledged to put the arts at the heart of its output, as it promotes Radio 2 and 6Music boss Bob Shennan into a new music role that joins up TV, radio and online.

Shennan moves into a newly-announced role as Director Of Music for the BBC, and will work alongside Jonty Claypole, who becomes Director Of Arts. Shennan will also retain his position as Controller of Radio 2, 6Music and the BBC's Asian Network.
