Chrysalis Records announces global partnership with Everything But The Girl

As revealed in the new issue of Music Week, Chrysalis records has today (July 17) announced a global partnership with Everything But The Girl.

Under the terms of the long-term licensing agreement, Chrysalis Records will distribute and promote the band’s first eight albums, from Eden to Amplified Heart, which features record-breaking chart hit Missing.

This deal follows the acquisition of the Everything But The Girl catalogue, as part of the Warner/Impala/Merlin divestment agreement, by Buzzin’ Fly Records, the independent label and Impala member owned by the band’s Ben Watt.

Speaking about the agreement, Watt said: “The Warner divestment offered Tracey and I a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own the lion's share of our back catalogue. With our prime focus these days on new respective solo projects, Chrysalis is the perfect collaborator to help curate ten years of early joint work we are both still very proud of.”

Robin Millar, CCO of Chrysalis Records, added: “Having produced Ben and Tracey's first two albums, it’s so good to be working with them again. They have made so much truly beautiful music and continue to do so.”

Jeremy Lascelles, CEO Chrysalis Records, concluded: “This is a wonderful catalogue of recordings topped off with one of the great female voices this country has ever produced. What's not to love? It's a real privilege to be working with Ben and Tracey.”
