Armada Music partners with Kanjian digital platform to make catalogue push into China

Armada Music has partnered with Kanjian, a digital music infrastructure and technology enterprise, to expand its catalogue’s commercial footprint across China.

The partnership integrates Armada’s electronic music catalogue into Chinese streaming and commercial channels via Kanjian’s advanced licensing and digital asset management platform.

China's digital music ecosystem is highly localised, operating on technical frameworks that differ significantly from Western markets.

Through this partnership, Armada gains the critical local infrastructure needed to maximise its footprint, leveraging Kanjian’s network to unlock comprehensive access across a market of 1.4 billion listeners.

“As electronic music increasingly expands into ‘all-scenario’ use – soundtracking gaming, fitness, short-form video, and brand experiences – Armada brings a highly versatile, globally recognized catalogue to the partnership,” said a statement.

The label's catalogue includes Armin van Buuren, Loud Luxury and Lost Frequencies.

Kanjian facilitates the monetisation of more than 40 million music and audio assets, serving more than one million artists and 480,000 organizations globally.

The platform connects directly with over 400 mainstream music channels worldwide and provides licensing and monetisation across a wide range of industries and commercial use-case categories.

“China presents an enormous opportunity for electronic music, but realising its full potential requires strong local expertise and infrastructure,” said Maykel Piron, CEO of Armada Music. “Partnering with Kanjian enables us to bring Armada Music’s catalogue to more listeners and commercial partners across the market, while creating new, sustainable opportunities for our artists and their music."

Kanjian has established electronic music partnerships with Monstercat, Defected Records and Alan Walker.

"China's digital landscape is incredibly rewarding, but navigating its specific technological frameworks requires specialised infrastructure,” Tinko Georgiev, VP of international business, Kanjian. “Our job is to serve as that end-to-end operational backbone. By providing a unified system for monetisation and comprehensive rights management, we enable a household name like Armada to focus on strategic growth while we handle their route to listeners and commercial partners at scale.”
