Music streaming service Deezer has revealed the UK's most listened to artists and songs on the platform in 2019.
Ed Sheeran is the most streamed artist of the year, ahead of Ariana Grande and Post Malone, with Lewis Capaldi and Billie Eilish rounding off the Top 5. Calvin Harris, Khalid, Marshmello, Xxxtentacion and David Guetta also make the Top 10. British artists made up a third of the Top 100.
Lewis Capaldi has the most streamed song with Someone You Loved, which beat Giant by Calvin Harris ft Rag'N'Bone Man to the top spot. The Greatest Showman OST was the most streamed album, with Billie Eilish's When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? in second place.
"Local music has completely smashed it this year," said Nigel Harding, VP of artist marketing at Deezer. "Homegrown artists like Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi have captured the hearts of the nation. Similar to the rest of the world, the UK has been loving English and Spanish mashup tracks in 2019."
