Take That to play Amazon Prime event

Take That are to perform at an Amazon event in London to showcase the entertainment benefits of Amazon Prime membership.

Prime Day has become an annual shopping event for the online giant with more than five million items purchased in the UK last year. The 36-hour period of shopping deals for Prime members goes live at noon on July 16.

Amazon is staging a series of international events to launch this year’s Prime Day. Take That will perform at the UK Unbox Prime Day event ahead of the sale on July 15. The gig at a location in London will be the culmination of the day's line-up to help promote and drive take-up of Prime membership.

Amazon Music Unlimited is currently on offer for Prime members, who can get four months’ access for 99p – an offer that’s generous even for the highly competitive streaming market

While Spotify and Apple Music have become the leading rivals in the streaming market, Amazon appears to have targeted an older demographic for its subscription service, while opening up access to other platforms globally on its Echo smart speakers. Amazon is also unique at retail in being active across all formats – streaming, CD, LP and downloads.

Australia, Singapore, Netherlands and Luxembourg have been added to Prime Day 2018, along with existing sales UK, US, Spain, Mexico, Japan, India, Italy, Germany, France, China, Canada, Belgium and Austria.
