Lickd is on a mission to democratise mainstream music for all creators. We built the world's first mainstream music licensing platform, enabling content creators and brands to license major-label music legally, without losing ad revenue to copyright claims.
We're looking for a Head of Music Operations to lead our fast-paced Music & Licensing team. In this role you'll own the technical and operational processes behind onboarding rightsholders, ingesting and managing catalogue, YouTube Content ID and rights management, and all related reporting, across both our creator and brand platforms.
Responsibilities
- Own YouTube Content ID and other platform rights-management systems, including asset administration, claims management and dispute handling.
- Lead technical conversations with rightsholders relating to YouTube Content ID and equivalent platforms.
- Liaise with rightsholder partners to facilitate and manage content deliveries and updates.
- Oversee catalogue ingestion, activation, cleanup and metadata management across both the creator and brand platforms.
- Manage the (increasingly automated) curation, playlisting and merchandising of the catalogue.
- Own rightsholder and internal reporting from a music & licensing standpoint.
- Develop workflows and processes that improve efficiency and segment the catalogue for new platforms and opportunities.
Personal Attributes
- Comfortable working in a small team in a fast-paced, constantly changing startup environment.
- Highly resourceful and resilient self-starter, happy to work autonomously.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Willing to continuously adopt and learn new skills and technologies.
- Ambitious, with a strong desire to succeed.
Required Experience
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of YouTube and the Content ID ecosystem: asset management, claims and disputes, as well as a high level understanding around general channel management and processes from a creator perspective.
- Strong knowledge of the music industry digital supply chain.
- Experience managing, understanding and segmenting large data sets.
- Confidence using software and systems including:
- Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Google G-Suite equivalents.
- File transfer methods, including FTP, AWS, S3
- Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, Photoshop specifically)
- Audio file formats and editing tools (XLD, Audacity, etc)
- Familiarity with XML file formats.
- Ability to prioritise and manage several milestones and projects efficiently.
Desired Experience
- Experience with DDEX standards.
- Completed YouTube certification badge(s).
- Experience using SQL.
