Kobalt Music signs worldwide label services deal with Steve Angello

Kobalt Music has signed a multi-faceted worldwide label services deal with DJ and producer, Steve Angello.

The deal includes a partnership with Angello’s label, Size Records UK Limited and offers Angello a full range of services including digital and physical distribution, marketing and sync licensing.

Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum selling DJ/producer Angello is one of the most successful electronic musicians in history. On August 4, Angello released Act I - Genesis with two new singles, Breaking Kind (feat. Paul Meany) and Rejoice (feat. T.D. Jakes). The release leveraged Kobalt’s new marketing technology, Spotify Artist Subscriptions, that allows fans to sign up to receive everything an artist releases, directly into their Spotify library.

“Our global team is very excited to be able to support Steve’s powerful vision for his new album and this new chapter in his ground-breaking career,” said Willard Ahdritz, Kobalt founder and CEO. “We look forward to working in partnership with Steve and his management team on creating innovative release strategies for this inspiring record."

Angello said: “After months of disconnect I felt I had to change the way I made music, change the way I thought of music and the way I felt about music. Partnering with Kobalt offers me the creative and technology support I need to achieve my aims for this new music.”

Kobalt Nordics MD Johan Ekelund added: “Steve joined Kobalt last year as a Neighboring Rights client and we’re glad we could build that into a more robust partnership. As an artist and creator constantly breaking out of borders, musically as well as in the music industry, we’re confident his upcoming releases are going to break new ground.”
