Returning Cambridge alt-rock band Lonely The Brave have signed with Easy Life records for their next chapter.
Released today, the group’s new single So Nearly marks their first new music from the band featuring their original vocalist Dave Jakes in over a decade. Previously, Lonely The Brave scored a Top 20 album with their debut, The Day’s War, in 2014. Follow ups Things Will Matter peaked at No.35 and 2021’s The Hope List at 73.
So Nearly – which was produced by Mark Roberts (Black Peaks, Jamie Lenman, Delta Sleep) – was given its world premiere on the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show on Monday, October 26.
Speaking about the launch and new label deal, co-manager Sam Coare said: “Lonely The Brave has forever been a band built on passion, and the foundations for today are no different. Passion for the music they made, and the desire to rekindle the bonds they shared with one another, is what led to the reuniting of the band's original line-up. Passion is what brought myself and Matt, both of us fans from the band's earliest days, to desire to work with them. And passion for the project is exactly what makes Jamie, Mark and Jordan at Easy Life the perfect partners. There is no one involved in this new era – including our wonderful agent Steve Zapp and Danielle Reginiano at ITB – who isn't here first and foremost for the pure love of the band. It could and should be no other way."

Co-manager Matt Hughes added: “I have been lucky to manage some of my favourite ever UK artists, from Jamie Lenman to Black Peaks, Arcane Roots to Rolo Tomassi. When my friend Sam Coare asked me if there was any interest in coming on board and working as part of the management team of Lonely The Brave – a band I loved since their early demos, and a band that we had a mutual and shared adoration for – it was a no brainier. The fact we have been able to extend the working family with more fellow Lonely The Brave obsessives at ITB and Easy Life, just makes the whole thing even more warm and lovely. This signing, new single and tour announcement is just the start for us all. We collectively have huge ambitions and plans for this brilliant band. Watch this space.”
Lonely The Brave have also announced a short 2027 UK headline run through May. Support on all dates comes from Other Half.
