PPL will return as sponsor of the hotly-contested Radio Station category at the Music Week Awards this year.
The 2018 ceremony takes place on April 26 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London and table bookings are now open. Entries for the awards closed last week and nominees will be revealed later this month.
Last year’s Radio Station award was won by BBC 6 Music.
Peter Leathem, chief executive at PPL, said: “We are proud to continue with our support of the Music Week Awards, an annual fixture in the music industry calendar that we always look forward to.
“Licensing recorded music when it is broadcast on national, regional, commercial or online radio and then paying out the resulting royalties is a core part of our business and we are excited to present the Best Radio Station award to the winner at the ceremony on 26 April. In the ever-changing market, radio remains an important medium for PPL performers and member record companies and the strength of the latest RAJAR figures are a testament to this.”
Hi-res audio technology company MQA and distributor Proper Music Group are also back as sponsors for the 2018 ceremony.
