The IMPALA Sales Awards, which were recently adjusted to better reflect music sales across Europe, are the only pan-European awards devoted to independent artists: the new levels for honours start at silver celebrating sales of 20,000 and end at double platinum for sales of 800,000 copies or more.
Adele's 21 notched up a six-times platinum honour, the singer's 19 has been upgraded to four-times platinum and The xx's eponymous album was upgraded to platinum.
