Melanie C has become the next former Spice Girl to be dropped by the group's label Virgin Records.

The singer was retained by the label after her debut album Northern Star sold over three million copies worldwide, however the follow up album Reason performed less well, leading to the parting of ways with Virgin, which is described as "mutual".
