'This is a well-earned promotion': Sony/ATV ups Jacob Fain to SVP, A&R

Sony/ATV Music Publishing has promoted Jacob Fain to SVP A&R, head of research & analytics.

Based in the company’s New York head office, Fain oversees the research & analytics department alongside his senior role in Sony/ATV’s A&R team.

Fain has been with Sony/ATV for the past 10 years, having joined as manager of A&R in January 2008 before being promoted to VP, A&R. In his time with the company his signings have included the The Chainsmokers.

It has modernised the process of music discovery and evaluation for Sony/ATV, allowing the company to find songwriters and artists quicker than ever before and assess deals more accurately.

“I continue to be grateful for Marty and Danny for their confidence in me and the work we are doing signing and developing great artists and songwriters,” said Fain. “Further, our analytics work has modernised the artist and writer discovery process to give us the sharpest competitive edge in music publishing and allow us to better serve the creative community.”
