War Child UK has revealed that the Secret 7” record auction has surpassed the £1 million mark across its 10 editions to date.
The funding milestone follows the final raised figure of over £115,000 for 2026.
This money supports the War Child charity and their efforts to support children affected by war.
All 700 record sleeve designs from this year’s Secret 7” project were exhibited at 180 Studios, London from August 18 to 30. As well as figures from across the creative industries creating sleeves, The Haçienda designer Ben Kelly and The Maccabees’ frontman Orlando Weeks also took part for this special 10th edition.
The artists' identities and the track inside have now been revealed along with the winners of each sleeve.
Music and art fans would bid for the record sleeve they loved, with the track and visual artist behind the sleeves only revealed now that the auction has concluded.
Secret 7” has yet again shown the value in linking the musical, artistic, and charitable worlds
Charlotte Nimmo
Charlotte Nimmo, War Child’s fundraising and engagement director, said: “Secret 7” has yet again shown the value in linking the musical, artistic, and charitable worlds. To be able to say that Secret 7” has now raised £1,000,000 across the 10 editions to date makes me incredibly proud and immensely grateful to the artists and musicians involved this year. Their time and effort has directly helped our work to protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children affected by war.”
All of the proceeds from Secret 7” go directly to War Child’s work, including in Sudan, Ukraine, Gaza, Afghanistan, DRC, and more. The organisation and its local partners are mobilising to reach as many of these children as possible, providing life-saving emergency assistance, protection, and mental health first-aid.
DHL provides logistics support for the project, as part of their ongoing partnership with the charity.
Secret 7” takes seven tracks from participating artists with every song being pressed just 100 times onto seven-inch vinyl, creating 700 limited-edition 7” records. John Lennon, The Last Dinner Party, Gabrielle, The Maccabees, Skin, Glass Animals and Bastille provided tracks for this year’s campaign.
