Wyclef Jean unveiled as MIDEM Artist Accelerator ambassador

Wyclef Jean has been announced as an ambassador for  MIDEM 2017’s Artist Accelerator programme.

The programme is designed to help boost the careers of emerging artists on an international scale, offering networking opportunities and the chance to perform in front of an audience of music industry experts and executives.

Jean joins the programme as an ambassador and mentor, and will also perform live at MIDEM on Wednesday, June 7 on the MIDEM By Night main stage.

“I am excited about the MAA programme because I have spent my entire career producing, writing for, and collaborating with amazing young artists,” Jean commented. “The youth are the future. It’s a blessing to help mould the musicians of tomorrow.”

Jean joins Latin star Daddy Yankee, pioneer of the Reggaeton genre and founder of Puerto Rico’s El Cartel Records, as one of this year’s Artist Accelerator ambassadors.

“We’re delighted to welcome Wyclef Jean as ambassador for this year’s MIDEM Artist Accelerator, where his track record as a hit producer will be of immense value to the upcoming talent,” said Alexandre Deniot, director of MIDEM. “And to cap his presence in Cannes with a live performance is obviously the icing on the cake that everyone at MIDEM will look forward to.”

First Access Entertainment CEO Sarah Stennett was recently unveiled as a keynote speaker at this year’s MIDEM. Find out what she will be discussing at the show here.
