Charts analysis: Niall Horan 'Weathers' the storm to top Albums Chart in difficult week

As the industry’s core legacy product, consumption of the long playing album is possibly the most vulnerable to the changes required of us during the Covid-19 crisis.

Sure enough the numbers this week make for some rather grim reading. The artists albums market is down 7.3% week on week to a just 1,557,107 units. Physical sales fell 12.2%, downloads by 6.6% and streams by 6.6%, with the streaming share now standing at 79.32% of the total.
