Artist platform Fenix360 and Indian music streaming service Gaana are set to showcase a direct-to-fan ecosystem at Mumbai's All About Music conference.
The offering, which is set to be integrated into the Gaana app by the end of the year, will feature a native media feed with synced catalogue playback and artist monetisation tools.
Artists will be able to operate independent storefronts for physical and digital merchandise, offer live-event ticketing and gated livestreams, and receive direct financial support from fans. An artist app will provide audience analytics, content upload and community-moderation tools. Artists or rights-holders will retain 70% of revenue generated through Fenix360’s tools.
The development marks the next phase of the partnership formed in April between Fenix360 and Gaana, which recently reported an 84% jump in annual revenue and 15% subscriber growth.
Music platforms need to evolve from places where people simply listen to music into ecosystems where artists and fans discover, engage and connect

The upcoming features will be announced during today's All About Music panel, Gaana & Fenix 360 - Building the Artist Fan Ecosystem.
“Music platforms need to evolve from places where people simply listen to music into ecosystems where artists and fans discover, engage and connect," said Yatish Mehrishi, CEO of Entertainment Network India Limited, which owns and operates the Gaana music streaming service.
"With Fenix360, Gaana is taking an industry-first step in bringing this direct-to-fan experience into music streaming, creating new ways for fans to engage with artists while enabling artists to build communities and create new revenue opportunities for themselves from their fan relationships.”
Streaming Reimagined is about changing what streaming can do for the people who create it

A recent EY and Indian Music Industry (IMI) report found that while 96% of Indian smartphone users consume music, just 14 million are paying subscribers, compared with more than 200m for video. The integration is designed to respond to that shift, with further updates set to allow artists to upload content and manage fan interactions.
The All About Music panel forms part of Fenix360’s week-long Streaming Reimagined campaign. A global streaming event is set to take place on August 27, with performances from artists across 13 cities.
“Streaming changed how the world listens to music," said Allan Klepfisz, founder, chairman and CEO of Fenix360. "Streaming Reimagined is about changing what streaming can do for the people who create it. This is much bigger than one announcement, which is why we are celebrating it with artists and audiences around the world for an entire week.”
Fenix360 will also launch the Fenix360 Artist Trust on August 31, chaired by concert promoter Harvey Goldsmith, with the initiative set to support artists and charities.
