There's big news from MUSEXPO 2027 this morning, as three additions to the line-up are revealed.
Zane Lowe and Daniel Glass will discuss all things A&R at next year’s edition of Sat Bisla’s annual conference, while Alexandra Nickson, senior vice president, television music, DreamWorks Animation, has been named the recipient of the Global Media Executive Of The Year Award at A&R Worldwide’s International Music Industry Awards, which take place after MUSEXPO.
Sat Bisla’s A&R Worldwide is celebrating its 25th anniversary next year, with the 27th edition of the event set to take place from March 21–24 at Castaway in Burbank, California.
Apple Music’s global creative director Lowe will sit down with Glass, founder & CEO of Glassnote Entertainment Group, for a conversation exploring “the art and science of artist development in the modern music business”.
Launched in 2007, Glassnote now encompasses Glassnote Records and Connection Music Publishing, with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Austin and London.
Nickson won an Emmy Award for her work on Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight and received a nomination at the same awards for Orion And The Dark.
She has previously served at MGM Pictures, Amblin Entertainment, The Walt Disney Company and Freeform.
Nickson said: “I have spent the past 13 years at DreamWorks Animation building music for film and television streaming content that I hope resonates with people of all ages. I’ve always believed there is no such thing as ‘kids music,’ there is simply great music: music that moves you, stays with you, and becomes part of the emotional memory of a story.”
My passion is bringing new voices to the table, creating opportunities for artists, songwriters, composers, and producers from all backgrounds to be heard
Alexandra Nickson, Dreamworks
She added: “My passion is bringing new voices to the table, creating opportunities for artists, songwriters, composers, and producers from all backgrounds to be heard, and connecting those voices with stories where their music can make a real impact. I am deeply honored to be recognized as Global Music Executive Of The Year, and grateful to the collaborators, teams and artists who continue to inspire me every day.”
