Muse lead surge in album sales with Absolution
Monday, Sep 29th 2003 at 1:00AMMuse lead the way this week on the UK albums top 40. The band's third album, Absolution has shot straight in at number one, fighting off competition from six other new entries including Sting, R Kelly and Nickelback.
Clearance sales in the UK's big chains, and the release of seven strong artist albums means that the UK top 40 albums has experienced a 40% surge in sales - the strongest week on the chart since November 2001.
