Primary Wave Music has partnered with the estate of Robert Palmer.
The company will work alongside the estate on Palmer’s publishing and recording catalogue, as well as share in his name, image and likeness rights.
Access to Primary Wave’s marketing team and publishing infrastructure will be provided to the estate, with both working closely on new marketing, branding, digital and sync opportunities, as well as film & TV projects.
Robert Palmer sold millions of records around the world across his four-decade long career, which included 14 studio albums. His hits included Addicted To Love, Bad Case Of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor), Simply Irresistible, Johnny & Mary, She Makes My Day, and more.
Collaborative hits included Some Like It Hot with The Power Station and the Top 10 hit I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight with UB40.
Palmer was awarded two Grammy Awards for Addicted To Love and Simply Irresistible – both in the Best Male Rock Vocal Performance category – in 1987 and 1989 respectively. Addicted To Love was also nominated for two additional Grammys for Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year.

Addicted To Love reached No.1 on the US Hot 100 in 1986, as well as making the Top 5 in the UK. The accompanying video, which was directed by Terence Donovan, was nominated for five MTV Video Music Awards, winning for Best Male Video. Island Records founder Chris Blackwell described it as “one of the defining videos of the 1980s.”
Palmer released his final album, Drive, in 2003. He died aged 54 a few months after the album’s release.
