UMusic Shop Camden is marking the 20th anniversary of Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black.
In a statement, the Universal Music retailer noted that “Winehouse’s second cemented her as one of the defining British artists of her generation and continues to shape music and culture two decades later”.
Back To Black (Island) has UK consumption to date of 4,650,798 units (Official Charts Company). Official Charts recently revealed that it is No.11 on the biggest albums of all time rundown, based on combined UK sales and streaming data.
For UMusic Shop Camden, the anniversary also allows the store a moment to pay tribute to Amy Winehouse and her connection to Camden.
The Amy Winehouse statue stands opposite the store, creating a physical connection between the artist, her legacy and UMusic’s Camden retail site. The statue was unveiled in Stables Markets in 2015 as a permanent memorial in what the Amy Winehouse Foundation described as her “spiritual home”.

To mark the Back To Black anniversary, UMusic Shop Camden will host an exclusive Amy Winehouse merchandise takeover from October 19-27, featuring dedicated in-store visual merchandising and a limited-edition product range. The store will also be stocking the anniversary records from October 23, including the anniversary 3LP, 3CD and Zoetrope limited editions.
On October 21, the first 50 customers purchasing Amy Winehouse merchandise will also receive a mystery envelope, with one containing a pair of tickets to that evening’s Amy Winehouse Back To Black Roundhouse show featuring Mark Ronson, Salaam Remi, Baby Rose, Corinne Bailey Rae, FLO, Jessie Reyez, Jorja Smith, Lianne La Havas, Nia Smith, Sasha Keable, Skye Newman, Yebba and The Amy Winehouse Band.
The store will also play host to an unreleased studio performance of Amy Winehouse, ahead of its YouTube release on October 23.
Winehouse is already part of The Camden Edit, UMusic Shop’s permanent collection of artists with connections to the neighbourhood.
