AEG Live hires Jorge Melendez as CFO

AEG Live has appointed industry veteran Jorge Melendez as its chief financial officer.

Reporting to the company's chairman and CEO Jay Marciano, Melendez will oversee the division's financial operations including financial governance, regional finance teams and risk management across its touring, festival and venue.

Melendez, joins AEG Live from rival Live Nation, where he served as chief financial officer of touring and the global artist rights divisions for more than nine years. During his tenure at the company, he was in charge of managing the overall business unit's profit and loss, coordinating worldwide touring activities and ensuring the operational efficiency of the division.

"We are very pleased to welcome Jorge to AEG Live’s senior leadership team," said Marciano. "He joins us with more than 25 years of global experience in finance and operational management and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise as we continue to build our business around the world."

Before joining Live Nation, Melendez served as EVP and chief financial officer for EMI’s Latin America Business. He also spent 17 years at Sony Music International where he held senior management positions, most recently serving as EVP of Sony Discos, the company’s US Latin Label.
