Sam Fender removes premium front-standing tickets for tour after calling out 'inflated' prices

Following complaints from fans on social media about ticket prices, Sam Fender has “removed” premium front-standing tickets for his 2027 tour.

Fender himself called out the ticket prices as “inflated” in response to a fan on Instagram. He has since confirmed the higher-priced front seating tickets have been changed.

The Proper Massive Stadium tour was announced last week including two dates at Wembley Stadium. General sale tickets go live on October 30.

The Instagram user flagged that standing tickets for Wembley Stadium were split into “front standing” priced £130.75 and standing at £98.85.

Responding to the fan’s post, Fender said he was “not happy with these prices”.

“It got inflated well more than I’d had in mind, it should only be inflated in relation to the cost of putting the show on,” wrote Fender, adding that “they’re getting changed”.

In a follow-up Instagram Story over the weekend, Fender has confirmed that the previous ticket pricing tiers have been altered and explained the new prices for the tour.

“I’ve managed to get Front Standing tickets removed from the UK stadium tour,” he wrote. “Whoever buys a standing ticket gets as much chance as anyone to be at the front. No more 120 quid standing tickets either.”

Fender's intervention has been praised by fans, as well as by Lord Brennan who also noted the £1 donation from each ticket on the stadium tour to the LIVE Trust to support grassroots venues.

Fender is one of a number of artists who have raised the issue of gig ticket prices. Tom Grennan, who is returning with a new album, worked to make tours affordable.

In the US, The Cure’s Robert Smith stepped in to improve transparency over ticket pricing and is being recognised at next month’s Artist & Manager Awards.

General sale tickets for the Sam Fender tour go live on October 30 with the pre-sale open on Wednesday (October 28).

Fender’s tour is promoted by SJM, Communion ONE, Kilimanjaro Live and DF Concerts.
