Peermusic has signed a worldwide publishing deal with My Morning Jacket and frontman Jim James.
The agreement marks the culmination of a decades-long publishing relationship between the American rock band and Peermusic’s president, US & Canada, Jamie Cerreta, who first signed My Morning Jacket and James to a publishing deal with Chrysalis back in 2002.
Through the new deal, Peermusic will publish the go-forward works of My Morning Jacket as well as James’ go-forward solo recordings, starting with his new album Wowed Out, which will be released on August 28 via ATO Records.
“I have been so lucky to work with Jim for most of my career," said Cerreta. "It has been a true honour to represent his amazing songwriting throughout the years. I couldn’t be more thrilled that he has joined up with what we are building at Peermusic.”
The Grammy-nominated band have had 12 albums chart on the US 200, including two top 10s: Evil Urges (2008) and Circuital (2011). My Morning Jacket has also notched six top 10s, with three going to No. 1 on Adult Alternative Airplay charts, including two hits from 2025: Time Waited and Everyday Magic.

James said: “Since 2002, Jamie Cerreta and I have worked together building an incredible musical connection and friendship. He has always been such a wonderful guide and protector for all of the music I have created over the years, and I am so excited to join him and the rest of the family over at Peermusic!”
Louisville, KY-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist James has also put out solo releases, including 2013’s Regions Of Light And Sound Of God, 2016’s Eternally Even, 2017’s Tribute To 2, 2018’s Uniform Distortion (and its companion Uniform Clarity), and his 2019 collaboration with Teddy Abrams and the Louisville Orchestra, The Order Of Nature.
James has also produced records by Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Dean Wareham, Basia Bulat, Eggy and Ray Lamontagne’s Ouroboros.
