BeatBread appoints ex-TuneCore leader Andreea Gleeson as CEO with plan to expand presence outside US

Music funding platform BeatBread has appointed Andreea Gleeson as CEO.

Gleeson, previously CEO of TuneCore, will “accelerate commercial and international expansion and deepen partnerships across the independent music economy” according to the announcement from BeatBread.

She joined TuneCore in 2015 and was appointed CEO in 2021, leading the company as it expanded its global footprint, with local operations in 17 countries. Gleeson modernised its platform, grew its publishing administration business and evolved beyond distribution into artist development, including the launch of TuneCore Accelerator.

Gleeson succeeds Tracy Maddux, who was appointed as interim leader of the business following the death of founding CEO Peter Sinclair in August 2025. Maddux will continue to support the company through this leadership transition, and both he and Gleeson have been appointed to serve on the beatBread board of directors.

BeatBread helps independent artists, labels and songwriters to access capital without sacrificing ownership or long-term control.

“Gleeson’s early priorities include building on its established proprietary underwriting capabilities, expanding BeatBread’s presence outside the United States, deepening its distributor and label partnerships, and broadening its connection with the independent music market,” said a statement.

“What drew me to BeatBread is that Peter and this team solved a real problem for independent artists: how to access growth capital without giving up ownership or control,” said Andreea Gleeson, CEO of beatBread. “They’ve built sophisticated technology and a funding model that consistently gives artists more choice.

“I’ve spent much of my career focused on what independent artists will need next, and access to better capital on artist-friendly terms is one of the most important opportunities ahead. I’m excited to work with this team to bring better funding solutions to more artists and independent music businesses around the world.”

Since launching in 2020, BeatBread has provided more than $100 million in advances across 2,000-plus deals with creators in 42 countries. Music represented in those deals has generated 111 billion all-time streams, including 13.6 billion from deals signed in 2025 alone.

BeatBread last year secured $124 million in credit and equity capital from investors including Citi, Deciens Capital, Mucker Capital, Advantage Capital and GMO, providing additional capacity to expand its global funding business.

The company’s proprietary chordCashAI technology underpins the company’s ability to assess, price and structure funding across a broad range of creators and music businesses.

“Our priority over the course of the past year has been preserving the momentum that Peter Sinclair built, and positioning the company for long-term success,” said Tracy Maddux, outgoing interim CEO of BeatBread. “Andreea brings a rare combination of deep artist credibility, operational excellence and global scaling experience, and she is exactly the right leader to take beatBread to the next level in its growth journey.”

“BeatBread has proven both its technology and its ability to fund artists well and at scale,” said Ishan Sachdev of Deciens Capital, investor and board member. “That foundation creates a significant opportunity to scale the business across a much larger global market. Andreea brings the operating experience and track record of building global businesses at the intersection of technology and music to capitalise on that opportunity.”
