Fontaines DC have paid tribute to longtime manager Trevor Dietz, who has died aged 47.
The Irish band shared the news of Dietz’s passing on social media, describing him as the “sixth member of the band”. No cause of death has been given.
“We are utterly heartbroken to let you know that on Sunday June 7th we lost our dear friend and manager Trevor,” posted Fontaines DC on Instagram. “Trevor was beside us from the beginning of our journey as a band, we have never known Fontaines DC without him, the sixth member of the band. He cared passionately for us and for what was fair and right in the wider world. He was fearless in his beliefs. We will miss him always.
“We ask that you kindly respect our privacy and that of his family at this terribly difficult time. RIP Trev.”

Dietz had worked with Fontaines DC for a decade, steering them through a successful UK Top 10 debut album campaign with Dogrel in 2019.
He later partnered with management firm Wildlife Entertainment as the band’s rise continued with a No.1 LP (Skinty Fia in 2022) and their biggest album to date with 2024 follow-up Romance (311,917 units – Official Charts Company), which delivered several charting singles. It also marked their move from Partisan Records to indie giant XL Recordings.
As well as playing a huge Finsbury Park show in 2025, Fontaines DC have lined up a headline slot at Reading & Leeds Festival this summer.
The band and Grian Chatten featured on the Peaky Blinders Immortal Man soundtrack, as well as on the War Child Help(2) album.
