Frontiers Label Group appoints Rene Erwin Mata as A&R - New York

Frontiers Label Group has enhanced its A&R network with the appointment of Rene Erwin Mata as A&R – New York.

The rock specialist brings more than two decades of experience spanning A&R, artist management and music industry consulting.

His A&R career has seen him work with both major and independent labels, including Sony Music, Columbia Records, Red Bull Records, Razor & Tie, Mascot Label Group, and Lava/Republic Records. 

He is credited with playing an instrumental role in the early development of artists including Maroon 5, Lovelytheband, Des Rocs and Return To Dust, and has contributed to projects involving  artists such as P.O.D., Poppy, Grey Daze and Albert Hammond Jr.

Prior to his consulting and A&R work, Mata spent 11 years at Advanced Alternative Media, where he managed multiple platinum-selling producers and mixers.

In addition to his executive career, Mata is also a recording artist, having been signed to Lava, AFM Records, and Vydia. He has toured alongside acts including Papa Roach, Evanescence and Helmet, and performed at festivals such as Louder Than Life, Aftershock, Welcome To Rockville and Warped Tour.

Founded in 1996 in Naples, Italy, Frontiers Label Group has worked with artists including Megadeth, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hatebreed, Skunk Anansie, Van Zant, Don Felder, Def Leppard, Journey, Yes, Mr Big, Biohazard, Night Ranger, Whitesnake and ELO.

Mata will be responsible for helping to further establish the company's presence in North America while supporting the next wave of rock and alternative artists on a global scale.
