A year on from their launch in partnership with RCA, Since ’93 are having a good summer with hits from both Fredo and Aitch.
As revealed in the latest issue of Music Week, the label now has plans to build on its first wave of success. Aitch has just crashed into the Top 5 with Taste (Make It Shake), which has sales to date of 78,755, according to the Official Charts Company.
“We are excited about how Aitch and his music is growing,” Glyn Aikins, Since ’93 co-president, told Music Week. “It’s the result of 11 months of set-up releases, exciting collaborations with other artists and being heavily tipped as ‘one to watch’ at the top of the year.
“We’ve been creating as much momentum and excitement as possible around launching his upcoming project. This has been achieved by a combination of an astute and driven artist, a bright young manager and the experience and passion from the team at Since ’93, who have facilitated and amplified his creativity and ideas.”
This early victory is the first step to spreading his message far and wide
The 19-year-old rapper (real name Harrison Armstrong) also has a hit with Young T & Bugsey on Strike a Pose, and recently made the Top 20 with Bugzy Malone on Kilos. He recently landed on the BBC Radio 1 Brit List.
Aikins said the label has nurtured the rising star to reach this breakthrough.
“This is the philosophy of artist development, which is at the heart of everything we believe at Since ’93 and with Aitch," he said. "This early victory is the first step to spreading his message far and wide around the world."
