Robbie Williams named Album Icon for National Album Day 2026

Robbie Williams has been announced as an Album Icon for National Album Day on October 17.

To mark the 2026 event, Williams' third studio album Sing When You're Winning is being reissued by Universal Music Recordings and Island Records as a limited-edition 2LP red/blue vinyl set.

It will be the first time the 2000 LP, which features singles including Rock DJ, Supreme, Kids (with Kylie Minogue), has been reissued on vinyl, and will also see its first-ever release on coloured vinyl. The release will be available to pre-order from today (October 6).

”Ask any artist, albums still matter," said Williams. "That's why I’m happy to be part of this year's National Album Day celebrating the art of the album, and just how important they are... AND speaking of albums - they're re-issuing one of mine, you might know it.. Sing When You're Winning.”

This year’s National Album Day theme celebrates music icons – covering legendary, cultural and contemporary artists and recordings.

We are as delighted as we are honoured that Robbie has accepted our invitation

Williams joins previously announced 2026 ambassadors PinkPantheress, Max Richter CBE and Melanie C, who have been named Album Champions as advocates of the cultural importance of the album format.

A spokesperson for National Album Day said: “We are as delighted as we are honoured that Robbie has accepted our invitation to champion the album format and support National Album Day, this year celebrating iconic artists and their albums. He is an undoubted music icon and adds his powerful voice to other major artists advocating for the cultural importance of the album format.”

Organised jointly by the BPI and ERA, National Album Day 2026 is the ninth edition since the event launched in 2018, and is once again presented in association with BBC Radio 2. The event is supported across the station and BBC Sounds.

The 2026 event also welcomes the backing of Cherry Red Records, DP World, Official Charts, PPL, Proper Music and Trapeze Music as Official Supporters.

Last year’s National Album Day focused on rock, while previous editions have covered the ’90s, women in music, debut albums and great British groups.
