New edition of Music Week out now

The new issue of Music Week is out now, and this week’s cover star is none other than Atlantic UK’s promo king – not to mention the man behind that Music Week Awards 2019 speech – Damian Christian.

In our feature – which includes salutes from Stormzy and Ed Sheeran – Christian celebrates 20 years of success at Atlantic and reflects on a career that has earned him 10 of the last 11 Promotions Team Music Week Awards. Oh, and the time he out-drank Marilyn Manson...

This week's Big Story sees top retailers, ERA, Warner and Virgin EMI look at this year’s late arrival blockbuster releases as Q4 finally heats up. Elsewhere, we speak to Yungblud’s team about his astronomical rise and there’s a closer look at the Tencent and UMG deal.

Also, in the wake of last month's Music Week Women In Music Awards, we look back at the words of wisdom spoken by all of this year’s winners including Annie Mac, Emily Eavis, Camille 'Kamille' Purcell and many more.

Plus, fresh from celebrating their win at the Artist & Manager Awards, New Order managers Rebecca Boulton and Andy Robinson look back on their incredible careers while we also deliver a very special report on the current state of the ticketing market with a host of top names.

In Hitmakers, Allan Clarke recalls writing The Hollies’ multi-million selling single Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress) while director and photographer Anton Corbijn tells us about working with everyone from Nirvana to Depeche Mode in Aftershow.

Nottingham UK rap duo Young T & Bugsy star in On The Radar, Hold Tight! PR’s Matt Benton occupies the Rising Star slot and BBC Radio 6 Music producer Tom Whalley features in Tastemakers.

In addition, Sync Story examines the partnership between Ikea and D Double E & Star One, while R&B newcomer J Grrey stars in Making Waves.

Alongside all that, there’s all the very latest news, charts and analysis.

The issue is available in all good UK newsagents now. To secure your copy, please email Rachael Hampton on rachael.hampton@futurenet.com. To subscribe to Music Week and never miss a music biz story, click here
