Empire Publishing has appointed Emilio Morales as it aims to expand further into Latin music.
Morales has been appointed SVP, business development for Latin America.
“Based in Puerto Rico and working with the Empire Publishing team, Morales will build strategic partnerships across the region, deepen Empire's ties with the songwriters and producers powering the Latin sound, and help drive the company's global expansion,” said a statement.
Morales was previously MD of Rimas Publishing, the independent company behind the catalogues of Bad Bunny, Eladio Carrión, Mora, Subelo NEO and more. He unified its three companies under the Rimas Publishing brand and grew the roster to more than 150 writers and producers across Puerto Rico, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, the Dominican Republic and beyond.
Rimas clients have earned Grammy and Latin Grammy recognition and collected ASCAP and BMI Latin awards.

Morales has negotiated sync and brand deals with Netflix, HBO, Amazon, Spotify, Adidas and Rockstar Games, and pushed Rimas Publishing into pop, regional Mexican and gospel music. He also launched Rimas Publishing Girls, an initiative spotlighting women producers and composers in trap and reggaeton, along with a wellbeing programme for the company's creators.
