Kontraband looks after the merchandise requirements for a large selection of artists globally through Touring, Online, Retail and Licensing avenues.

The Production Assistant provides administrative support for the Production and Account Management Team and manages specific tasks within the production and sales process.

The successful applicant needs to have some merchandise experience and be an exceptionally well organised and motivated individual.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Maintaining the Touring schedule.
  2. Inputting sales figures and expenses from tours – ensuring all sales and cost data is available to finance for Tour accounts, and is recorded accurately
  3. Creating Purchase Orders, Sales Orders and Invoices.
  4. Organising delivery and collection of stock, from suppliers or office, including all relevant paperwork for overseas shipments.
  5. Accurate and timely creation of SKU’s for new products within the Product Database system.
  6. Managing and organising stocks and samples in the office – ensuring there is a well-organised system in place for clearing unwanted items, and archiving samples etc
  7. Sourcing new products and suppliers.
  8. Production and updating of tour and festival budgets
  9. Forwarding all relevant artwork to overseas partners.

Key working relationships

  • Working closely with each of the team to deliver key tasks and to assist on a variety of ad hoc production tasks.
  • Liaising with Finance Department to ensure that SO’s, PO’s and Invoices are all up to date.
  • Involvement with the design team directly and / or via the Creative Production Manager on product development, sampling and final production on behalf of Production Managers.
  • Liaise with Global merchandise partners.
  • Regular contact with printers and t-shirt suppliers on behalf of the production team
  • Regular contact with Freight Companies, to ensure most economic methods of transportation.
  • Regular contact with clients as directed by Production Manager / Director.

.Skills, knowledge and experience required

  • Education - Ideally a degree and / or music business qualification but not essential, if have relevant skills and knowledge.
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, clients and suppliers.
  • Meticulous attention to detail. Accuracy and timeliness are critical to this role given the high potential impact of mistakes and / or missed deadlines, both financial and client-satisfaction-wise. 
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Numerate ideally with a grounding in working to budgets and basic financial management (P & L accounting)
  • An interest in popular music and good knowledge of the Live music scene in the UK is desirable.

Working conditions / location

Based at Kontraband offices in Finsbury Park.The role will also require meetings with clients and suppliers at various locations usually in and around London.It is expected that employees maintain an interest in the live music scene by attending gigs and / or festivals from time to time.
