UTA to host second La Femme Majeure networking event in London for International Women's Day

UTA is hosting a La Femme Majeure brunch and networking event tomorrow (March 6) to mark International Women’s Day.

The global talent agency ran its first London brunch last year. This time, the networking event takes place from 9.30am-12.30pm at the city’s Riding House Bloomsbury.

Founded in 2018, La Femme Majeure is a UTA organisation and event series dedicated to bringing together music’s next generation of female leaders, nurturing professional growth and advancing gender equality in the industry.

The brunch is open to cis women, trans women and non-binary people from all parts of the UK music industry and across all levels of seniority. Its aim is to celebrate International Women’s Day (March 8) and to connect those working across the industry – from major labels and indies, to management, promoters, venues, lawyers and industry bodies.

La Femme Majeure’s London chapter comprises women from UTA’s music team, which includes agents, assistants and bookers: Hannah Shogbola, Emily Rhodes, Sammy Gardiner, Anaya Masonde, Kayleigh Lawrence, Harriet Fraser and Charlotte Chow.

Sammy Gardiner told Music Week: “We’re incredibly proud of what La Femme Majeure achieved with our first International Women’s Day Brunch last year. Our goal was simple but intentional: to create meaningful space, access and opportunity for women across every level of the music industry. Not a rushed networking event, but a considered environment where peers could connect, celebrate International Women’s Day – and each other.

Women in music still face professional challenges their male counterparts don’t, often starting with unequal access and opportunity. This is a time to provide that access and opportunity, a day in the calendar to genuinely connect, spark new business partnerships, and make long-term friends and allies along the way

Sammy Gardiner

“The reality is that women in music still face professional challenges their male counterparts don’t, often starting with unequal access and opportunity. This is a time to provide that access and opportunity, a day in the calendar to genuinely connect, spark new business partnerships, and make long-term friends and allies along the way. It’s also about visibility and encouragement, helping the next generation of women see what’s possible, feel inspired to lead, and providing a space to connect with peers and executives early in their careers.

“The feedback we received confirmed just how needed and valued that space was, so we’re thrilled to be making this an annual event. La Femme Majeure isn’t just about giving women a seat at the table; it’s about creating an entire room of opportunity where their voices are always heard, respected and influential.”

UTA’s other La Femme Majeure chapters are running initiatives and events in their LA, New York, Nashville and Atlanta offices.
