The latest Rajar figures show that 1.137m people per week tuned to 6 Music during the fourth quarter of 2010, compared to 695,000 in Q4 2009, while its audience share doubled from 0.4% to 0.8%.
While that growth in popularity has helped save 6 Music, the Asian Network will shut down this year despite a 32.5% growth in share, year-on-year. The station had an average of 477,000 people tuning in each week during the last quarter of 2010.
