Leaked documents obtained by Music Ally have revealed that Spotify, by reducing its free access tier to 10 hours of music a month in May, saw a dramatic upswing in premium subscriptions. Between March and June, Spotify lost 1.6m regular users on the free tier but added 520,000 paying subscribers. Premium users now account for 32.9% of its active user base.
